If you’re running an IPL, SHR, or ELight machine, you already know how critical the xenon flash lamp is. And if you’ve ever had to replace a Heraeus Germany lamp — model NL7338, NL7255, or NL7256 — you also know they don’t come cheap.
The good news? You don’t always have to buy the original brand.
In this guide, I’ll show you two reliable, more affordable alternatives: UK-based First Light Lamps and Shanghai brands (China). All while keeping the exact same dimensions: 7 mm diameter × 65 mm arc length × 130 mm total length.

Let’s be honest — Heraeus makes excellent xenon flash lamps. They’re durable, stable, and widely used in professional IPL devices. But that quality comes with a price tag that can be 2 to 3 times higher than compatible alternatives.
For clinics, salons, or maintenance technicians, that cost adds up quickly — especially when you have multiple machines or high daily shot counts.
The good news: the 7*65*130 mm form factor is quite standard. And several manufacturers outside Germany make lamps that drop right into the same socket.

First Light Lamps is a well-respected UK manufacturer specializing in xenon flash lamps for medical and aesthetic devices.
Why consider them:
High quality, close to Heraeus
Often electrically and optically compatible with Heraeus models
More affordable than Heraeus, but still premium
What to check:
Ask First Light if they offer a direct replacement for NL7338, NL7255, or NL7256 in the 7*65*130 mm size. Many of their lamps are designed as drop-in replacements for German originals.
Best for: Customers who want to save money but won’t compromise on reliability or lifespan.

Shanghai lamp is home to several experienced xenon lamp manufacturers (e.g., Senmao, Del, and other specialized factories).
Many of them produce exact mechanical copies of the Heraeus 7*65*130 mm lamp.
Why consider them:
Cost is typically 30–50% lower than Heraeus
Widely available on B2B platforms (Alibaba, Made-in-China)
Many suppliers offer samples and small orders
Important – don’t just buy the cheapest one.
Make sure the supplier provides clear specs on:
Same anode/cathode pin configuration
Similar trigger voltage and energy rating
Adequate UV/IR output for IPL/SHR/ELight applications
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers, training devices, high-volume but non-critical use, or as backup lamps.
